When we ask our clients what concerns them when investing money, the answer is more often than not ‘the risk of losing money’.

To invest money, you need to be prepared to lose money, but it’s our job to talk to you about the other money risks you are taking that you might not know associate with investing.

As well as owning a car that often will lose value year after year, our most expensive purchase will often be a house. It’s very expensive to buy, to maintain and to sell. But….is it safe?

The last 10 years show a rocky ride for average UK house prices. Houses in Preston/Lancashire have followed a similar pattern.

The average value of a house fell almost 20% in a year during 2008.

How did you feel? Were you concerned about greater losses? Did you consider selling your house as you’d lost so much money? Or do you now feel that it’s the best investment you’ve ever made?

"In investing, what is comfortable is rarely profitable." - Robert Arnott

Investing money with Fernleigh Wearden & Co Independent Financial Advisers should be a long term decision and long term commitment, in a similar way to owning a house.
